About Restavio

01

What Restavio is

Restavio is an independent editorial project about financial markets, written for people in South Africa who want to build their market knowledge one topic at a time. It works through reading charts, understanding trends and risk, and connecting economic events to market data.

02

Why it exists

A great deal of what is published about money is either too technical to follow or is really a sales pitch in disguise. Restavio sets out to explain the groundwork clearly and honestly, in plain language and with nothing to sell, so that a reader can understand why something is the way it is rather than simply being told what to think.

03

What it publishes

The material is a set of short articles and notes on:

  • reading market charts and the basics of candlesticks;
  • trends, volatility and the risks behind price movements;
  • how economic events and market data connect;
  • market fundamentals — shares, bonds, funds and fees;
  • putting market data and headlines in context.
04

What it is not

Restavio is strictly informational and educational. It does not sell financial products, does not accept commissions, does not manage money and is not a registered financial services provider. Nothing here is personalised financial, tax or retirement advice; for decisions that depend on your own circumstances, consult a professional registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA). The images on the site are illustrative and do not depict real clients.
